Roles we place
Hire a Solution Architect in South Africa
You can hire a full-time solution architect in South Africa for around 40% less than the true cost of a UK hire. They work your hours under your direction and contract with Kadraa, so no employment relationship or employment tax obligation reaches your business.
Also advertised as: Solutions Architect, Technical Architect, Enterprise Architect, Cloud Architect, Integration Architect.
What a Solution Architect actually does
- Designing how systems fit together: what gets built, what gets bought, what gets integrated and what gets left alone.
- Integration architecture between platforms that were never designed to talk to each other, which is where most enterprise budget quietly goes.
- Cloud and infrastructure decisions with real cost consequences, including the ones that only reveal themselves at scale.
- Acting as the technical counterweight to commercial promises, ideally before those promises are made to a client.
What to look for when you interview
- Ask about a design they got wrong. Architecture is a discipline of trade-offs and anyone claiming a clean record is either inexperienced or not being straight with you.
- Whether they still write code. Architects who have stopped entirely tend to design things that are unpleasant to build.
- The ability to produce a diagram a non-technical stakeholder actually understands. Much of this role is persuasion.
Why South Africa for this role
Architecture is a senior, judgement-heavy role where the UK salary premium is at its steepest, so the cost difference is most pronounced here. South Africa has a mature enterprise technology sector, particularly in financial services and telecoms, which produces architects who have worked at genuine scale and under real regulatory constraint rather than only on greenfield projects.
How hiring one works
We source and shortlist against your brief, you interview and choose, and typically it is around 21 days from brief to a signed contract with a start date. Your consultant contracts with Kadraa, not with you, and we run the contract, the payroll, the foreign transactions and any HR matter. You pay one monthly fee from a UK registered company.
If it ever stops working out, you give one month’s notice and we start finding a replacement the same day, with no time limit and no replacement fee. Pricing is indicative until we know the role.
The next 30 minutes
Bring a role. Leave with its price.
Tell us what the role would pay in the UK and we’ll give you an indicative monthly fee on the call. Typical time from brief to signed contract is 21 days. And if the model doesn’t fit what you need, we’ll say so on the call.
- 30 minutes, with a founder
- An indicative monthly figure for your role, on the call
- No obligation, no follow-up sequence
